The GKH horizontal siphon scraper discharge centrifuge is a continuous operation, intermittent discharge and filtering centrifuge. It has a fixed filter bed and can periodically perform operations such as backwashing, feeding, separation, washing, re-separation and unloading under the dual action of centrifugal force and siphon force. This machine is controlled by a programmable controller and can operate manually or fully automatically.
Unlike the common scraper centrifuge, the siphon centrifuge replaces the multi-hole drum with a non-hole drum with a siphon chamber, and adds a siphon and backwash device at the rear end of the drum. Inside the drum, filter plates, liners and filtering media are laid in sequence. In addition to the centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation, the filtering driving force can also produce an additional vacuum effect through the siphon device. Therefore, the siphon centrifuge has a higher production capacity and better separation effect than the ordinary scraper discharge centrifuge.
When the siphon centrifuge is in operation, the clear liquid is first injected into the siphon chamber at the rear end of the drum by the backflushing device. The liquid is then pressed into the front end of the drum through the inclined through hole between the bottom of the drum and the siphon chamber. On the one hand, it removes the air between the filter plate and the filter channel of the drum; on the other hand, it forms a liquid ring on the filter medium, which helps to evenly distribute the material during feeding. Then the feeding begins, in which the solid phase is retained by the filter medium to form a ring-shaped filter cake. The liquid phase passes through the filter medium, liner screen and filter plate, and enters the siphon chamber through the channel between the cylinder and the filter plate, as well as the through hole between the bottom of the drum and the siphon chamber. The filtrate is then drawn away by the siphon device. The solid phase (filter cake) retained on the filter medium is separated, washed and then separated again. Finally, the filter cake is conveyed outside the machine by the screw discharge device.
